IMPORTANT: All proceeds from the sale of this album will be donated to March for Our Lives (See:
marchforourlives.com/home/), in support of their valiant efforts to advance the cause of common-sense gun legislation, while attempting to balance the obvious pain and outrage in society with a message of hope, compassion, reason, and love. I will also match the donation raised by this release up to $100 from my personal funds.
This track was written and recorded in the shadow of the long and virtually uninterrupted line of school shootings in the United States, and in the direct wake of the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2018.
My wife works as a guidance counselor at a middle school. Our three-year-old daughter is in day care on a daily basis. I can't imagine losing them to senseless violence resulting from willful inaction by certain people. You know the ones.
While I have been looking to contribute in my personal life by getting involved in the political process, and raising awareness in my circles, I have always resigned myself to the fact that I am but one voice. This thought eventually led me to the idea of using my voice to record this track about school shootings and gun violence in general, and the greed that enables them.
While this track will also be on my next album, I am releasing it as a name-your-price single for the purposes of raising funds for March for Our Lives.
Never Again.
